Steven Traeger is an ardent advocate for those in need and is passionate about helping people with legal matters. He co-founded Traeger and Ricks, PLLC in order to build a team that can provide his community with quality legal services. Prior to founding the law firm, Traeger represented the State of Texas as a prosecutor, gaining valuable trial experience by assisting in, and leading over 20 trials. He serves on the Texas Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors, State Bar of Texas Law Practice Management Committee, and as a liaison to the Texas Center for Legal Ethics Board of Trustees.

Traeger attended law school at Texas A&M University, where he focused on Texas property-related courses. During his time there, he was elected Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Law Student Division (representing all law schools across Texas) and Vice President of the Texas A&M Student Bar Association (student government). He also served as a law student liaison to the Board of Directors of the Texas Young Lawyers Association.  

Prior to law school, Traeger worked in political consulting, representing political candidates in Texas. He attended both Texas Lutheran University and Texas A&M University for his undergraduate B.S. in Economics. At Texas A&M, he was appointed Vice President of Legislative Relations for the Student Body, a position he used to advocate for university interests in both Austin and Washington D.C..  

Traeger attended St. James Catholic School in Seguin and New Braunfels Christian Academy. He is an Eagle Scout, Master SCUBA Diver and enjoys any time spent outdoors. He spends his free time with his wife, family, and close friends.
